Hello and welcome to my new website and first blog post! I’m thrilled finally to have been able to push the button and launch derrickarmitage.com .

It has been an interesting and stimulating challenge building this website from scratch, something I would not have thought possible a year ago! But with the help of an excellent online course by Paul Herschell at Simple Art Marketing and great encouragement from fellow students, here we are!

I hope that all the hard work will now give my artistic efforts a great new platform. One that will allow my Beaded Beasties mixed media box frame artworks and my Digital Imaginings cards and prints to reach a wider audience.

I hope too that you will enjoy accompanying me on the journey. Learning something of the inspiration behind the things I create, the places where I may capture images and with a little bit of history thrown in.

In this image you can see that I’m wearing a couple of pin badges on my collar. These are in support of Just A Card, a wonderful campaign that encourages us all to shop with small, independent artists, designers, makers, shops and galleries where friendly, personal service is key. Every purchase no matter how small, even if it’s ‘just a card’, makes a BIG difference to a small business. Do take a look at their website to see the great work they do.
