Persian Paradise Dragonfly Garden
This Persian Paradise Dragonfly Garden mixed media box frame artwork uses a vintage playing card to conjure a setting of trickling water, flowers and exotic fragrances. The word ‘paradise’ comes from the Persian words for walled garden and this artwork combines all the factors that you might find in such a place: a sparkling fountain and water rills, rose and frangipani bushes, trees, shrubs and flowers. You might even spot a nightingale which, along with roses, have long played a role in Persian literature.
This fantasy garden has soft colours to soothe and transport you to another world. It is one of four frames in which I have used vintage playing cards with this Persian/Mughal theme. The other three are: The Palace Garden – The Emperor’s Progress – and The Fabled City.
The grey shadow box frame is 32 cm square and can be displayed on the wall or stand on a shelf. UK postage is included in the price.
