Flying High Dragonfly Trio

My Flying High Dragonfly Trio shadow box frame gives a new lease of life to pre-loved jewellery creating depth, perspective and a sense of freedom. The dragonflies take flight across a sky of possibility, their wings whispering tales of transformation while the pale shades evoke a serene, dreamy atmosphere. This artwork captures the ephemeral beauty of nature, elevated by the delicate interplay of light and colour.

It began with the knotted silver snake chain and pewter grey ribbon fabric which made dramatic wings. Large beads in a mix of gunmetal and pewter colours were ideal for the body and a chunky woven chain knot made the dragonfly’s thorax. I used small cogs and spacer beads for the eyes. Two smaller beasties, again from upcycled beads, help give scale and perspective to produce a unique artwork.

This would be ideal for any nature lover or entomologist even though I don’t aim for the creatures to be anatomically accurate representations but artistic creations.

The black box frame is 32.5 cm square and approx. 5 cm deep. it can be hung on a wall or stood on a shelf for display.
