Dragonfly Art

My selection of vibrant dragonfly mixed media art will enable you to enjoy these jewels of nature in your home. Each box frame is a unique artwork created from new and recycled materials. No two will ever be the same.

There is a rich variety of dragonfly and damselfly species. My interpretations  are colourful representations of the creatures and are not intended to be anatomically or zoologically accurate.

I create each insect by selecting pieces of pre-loved jewellery as well as new beads. Wings are made from acetate film or cut from card. I then display them in settings that represent their waterside environments using paper and card, raffia, cord, pebbles, shells, buttons and more, much of it recycled.

Of course, a large dose of imagination is the finishing touch which I hope will add to your enjoyment. My vibrant dragonfly art makes ideal and unusual gifts for any insect or nature lover. They could also add a fun, colourful touch to a child’s bedroom (but please note that the frames are NOT toys).
